mOI jE JOuE

Moi Je Joue  means, Me I Play…such a fun and catchy song that I related to the minute I pressed play!  Although I don’t speak french, I often pretend that I do and every word makes sense….To me anyways. Recently I’ve been having this Brigitte Bardot obsession. When I write I tend to listen to music that inspires my ideas and concepts and her album, “The Best of Bardot” has been doing just that. I’ve been listening to a lot of it lately which is French pop, flirty and fun, sexy and sultry. She is absolutely gorgeous, and of course I am a HUGE FAN of her  HAIR!!!!! There’s nothing more sexy than long flowing bouffant glam  hair! Non? – Christina XO

I love this time of year, especially when the Christmas tunes start playing. And I’m not talking about the Black Eyed Peas latest remix of “Little Drummer Boy” (please tell me there isn’t one). I’m talking about the oldies, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald…sure Dolly Parton too! I look forward to the lights, the Wish Lists, getting together with friends for Christmas parties and connecting with family.  Last night I was doing a bit of cleaning and I came across my Santa Gumby! WOW! I can’t even tell you how much I love this guy. I’ve had him ever since I was a baby. My grandparents gave him to me. It always sat on top of their cupboard. It had been given to me last year….after all these years and this gumbyish figurine makes me smile all of the time. I could be crying about something and all I have to do is just  look up  at Santa Gumby sitting on the ledge minding his own business and I smile………yes it’s the little things that make me happy. Michael Franti – astic!

On Saturday night a couple of pals and I saw the fabulous Michael Franti and Spearhead at the VOGUE theatre. I’ve never seen him before, but have only heard amazing things about this energetic and talented musician. Indeed they were all true. He is considered one of the most positive and conscious musicians today captivating his audience with charm and  a very powerful stage presence.  With his socially inspired lyrics and Spearhead’s contageous mix of classic soul, funk and hip-hop it wasn’t a surprise to see everyone clapping, singing, and dancing around. He brought people up on stage letting them shake their booty and even made his way through the crowd offering high fives while serenading audience members along the way.  It was difficult for me to stand still…..Then again, I have a hard time standing still to begin with. And why would you stand still during a concert? DUH! Shake it! Move it! Groove it up! So,  If you ever have the chance to see him GO! You will without a doubt walk out feeling H-A-P-P-Y! One quick fact about Michael Franti : He used to be a basketball star before he was an artist.  Go figure!  I guessed that the minute he walk out on stage. Well he is over 6 feet tall so I think that was an easy guess. – Christina
